ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Great understanding of SEO tools.
Ability to oversee link-building team, manage day-to-day relationships with clients, managing research into best practice via teams in China/UK.
Apply knowledge of western SEO strategy and devise new strategy for Chinese search engines.
Help product team with software development.

Google UK 30%
Baidu/so360 70%

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Campaign Strategy
• Support new business pitches and carry out forecasting and auditing. To work closely with the Commercial team as required when devising and managing advanced strategies for high value clients
• Strategic lead for clients, responsible for providing recommended keyword and link building strategy documentation
• Strategic research providing insight into keyword and keyword cluster profitability
• Undertake link profiling research to ensure a natural link profile is built/maintained
• Compile keyword targeting and link building strategies at the beginning of each month
• To actively and frequently propose new and improved Chinese search engine marketing campaign ideas, especially within Baidu/360 platform
• Compile reports, analysis results and provide insights on future strategy
• Identify up-sell opportunities for existing clients

KPI’s and Reports
• Working with commercial team to research and set reasonable KPIs within given budgets
• To use a variety tools to compile and draw insight from both company-specific, sector-specific and generic industry data, in order to better understand user trends and behaviour and add context to the performance on each account
• Provide weekly update on activities and any potential opportunities
• Deliver monthly performance reports to clients giving explanations and solutions for any movements, a robust description of monthly activity, suitable advice and recommendations and a clear summary of results set against the KPIs agreed with the client.

Client Focus
• Ensure that each client is kept up-to-speed with progress and results, running/overseeing day to day activities, focus and strategy
• Maintain regular contact with clients, respond to all client communications – either personally or through team members within 24 hours
• Attend and actively take part in client meetings.

Organisation/Management
• Line management of teams
• Client owner - direct responsibility for account performance
• Ensure all reasonable effort is made to ensure deadlines are met
• Provide all link acquisition requirements in a timely manner
• Undertake performance reviews and provide actionable feedback
• To efficiently manage available resources and to carry out frequent cost/benefit analysis with regard to resource allocation.
• To freely share knowledge, insight, best practice, tactics and ideas.
• To provide continuous mentoring, tuition and guidance to colleagues and clients. To prepare and carry out specific training sessions and presentations for clients and/or colleagues as required

REQUIREMENTS

• Bi-lingual in Mandarin and English (highly preferred but not essential)
• Senior-level SEO professional (3-5 years’ experience) High level knowledge of SEO off and on page ranking factors including SEO tech
• Thorough understanding of HTML, CSS and web standards
• An excellent understanding of how Google (ideally Baidu/so360) rank pages
• Proven experience in managing client website from initial auditing to implementing link building strategies
• Proven and personal experience of achieving better-than-expected results (rankings/traffic/conversions) across a number of SEO campaigns
• Analytical, with a proven ability to quickly interpret large amounts of information, news, data and research – then distil the most important/relevant information for intelligent strategic development
• Highly numerate and literate, with the ability to produce top quality written reports.
• High level knowledge of all standard tools such as GA, MOZ, Majestic, Ahref, etc.
• Some exposure to PPC and Social Media and how they work with SEO
• Strong leader able to motivate team into performance

Agency experience is essential for this role. Ideally within a smaller agency with an 'all hands on deck' approach or a start up environment.
