Our client is looking for someone to join their Marketing team as an entry-level Search Engine Marketing Specialist and get hands-on experience working with Google and MSN (Bing/Yahoo) pay-per-click advertising programs.

Our client is looking for a motivated, analytical individual to bring their creativity and problem-solving skills to work every day. You will have a strong desire to learn the SEM craft and the inner workings of a dynamic Web business. You’ll hit the ground running and do keyword research, campaign performance analysis, competitive benchmarking, and a host of other SEM-centric tasks critical to our success—all geared toward creating targeted campaigns that meet our customers’ lead generation needs. You’ll gain practical, on-the-job experience via hands-on training in a boot camp-style format. You’ll immerse yourself in SEM from day one, learning the SEM trade from a senior SEM strategist and other senior Internet marketers.

Whether your college background is in writing, advertising, marketing, communications, or a technical discipline, this is an exciting position that will grow your skill. The Search Engine Marketing Specialist is a full-time online advertising role that will be a key contributing member of the Marketing team.

What you’ll do:

In this role, you will learn the following skills and work toward incorporating each into your everyday responsibilities:

  • Create PPC (pay-per-click) campaigns
  • Research and optimize keywords
  • Create/optimize ad copy to improve CTR (click-through rate) & CPC (cost per click)
  • Monitor daily/weekly/monthly account performance
  • Restructure SEM accounts for greater efficiency
  • Manage campaign budgets, bid amounts, match types, and forecasting
  • Implement efficiency-oriented strategies such as geo-targeting and negative matching
  • Perform in-depth campaign analysis that focuses on identifying opportunities and problem areas

  • Essential skills and experience:
  • 4-year college degree
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, with emphasis on experience manipulating data in Excel
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Exceptional time-management skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as alone
  • An innate curiosity and a passion to succeed
