You will utilize your quantitative and qualitative skills to provide actionable insights for optimizing marketing spend, audience targeting and influencing customer behavior. Your responsibilities in this role would include the following. • You will assume ownership of the financial performance for your portfolio to achieve business, revenue and profitability objectives. • You will identify growth opportunities, test hypotheses and scale winning tests to improve SEM traffic productivity and increase return on investment. • You will script prototypes to self-serve data transformation and work closely with Product Engineering teams to optimize and automate our workflows. We want you to stay on the state-of-the-art of direct response marketing. • You will collaborate with internal partners, build quarterly forecasts and weekly pacing views of your P&L, communicating risks and opportunities to the team in a crisp and compelling manner. • You will execute on the fundamentals of search marketing – we seek individuals who are passionate about SEM. We are looking for… • Individuals who have excellent quantitative analysis experience. SEM is an art and a science but it is more about science than art these days. • Extraordinary analytical skills, including data manipulation and financial analysis. We are interested in your Python scripting skills. • Experience in working with SQL and expertise in Microsoft Excel. Expect questions in this area! • Track record in SEM is preferred. • Excellent collaboration at all levels, including crisp and compelling verbal and written executive communication. • Trustworthiness, transparency and dedication to partnership in a fast-paced environment. Soft skills: 
-Need someone who is used to being in the weeds (large data sets dont phase them). 
-Account hygiene - go beyond managing the data sets and find pockets in the data and areas of improvement 
-The really value A/B Testing OR multi-variant testing 


Extension/Conversion: chance but not an open role, covering maternity leave 

About Team: Global SEM team of around 30 members from associate to senior-level and engineering. In Bellevue run lodging SEM, hotel destination and property keywords. Solely in Google, Yahoo, Bing paid search SEM, not social media. Run hundreds of thousands of keywords, large budgets. 6-10 years experience between managers. 7-8 members in the office, some less than a year. 

Technical skills: have worked in SEM, for 1 year at least, knows general principals, comfortable in Adwords and bing, quick to learn internal systems. Hit the ground running, negative query scrubs, large data analysis, strong Excel skills. Large amount of keywords and data. Someone who is used to being in the weeds rather than an overseer. 

Typical day: basic SEM, account help. Lacking the man power to work on large accounts. Scrubbing search query reports, negatives to push, looking at bids, need to push up or down. Where to do that in accounts. Data asks, with SEM team or on a larger scale. Data pulls and analysis. Dig in and find out room for improvement and optimization. 

Scripting Knowledge: Not a requirement but helpful. 

SQL helpful but not required. 

Background: Likes people who have worked with large amounts of data, one person came from finance. Only needs one year of SEM but social network or SEO background is helpful.
