Our client is looking for a Search Engine Marketing Manager to join their team. You'll be responsible for overseeing all SEM performance, managing a team of search marketers, and planning and executing marketing campaigns. Two to three years’ experience in a SEM agency or three or more years of in-house SEM management required. Must be analytical, creative, extremely detail oriented, an independent worker, and demonstrate excellent communication skills. Must be a wizard in Excel; experience using Google Analytics is a major plus.
What you'll do:
• Monitor, track, and report on paid search metrics, including trend analysis, volume, profitability, forecasting and performance volatility
• Oversee the development and implementation and maintenance of comprehensive paid search engine campaigns and optimization techniques
• Perform deep analysis of performance data and develop a plan to either grow an opportunity or to course-correct
• Communicate performance to key stakeholders, indicating risks to performance and plans to course-correct
• Create both bidding and campaign strategies to drive additional SEM traffic to ASD's suite of sites
• Investigate, identify and oversee the implementation of day-to-day campaign performance issues, including writing and testing ad copy, account organization and structure, keyword bidding, keyword expansion, and landing page testing
• With the conversion rate team, develop a test plan to optimize landing pages for conversion rate and quality score
• Be the primary point of contact for all internal day-to-day SEM-related questions
• Identify new areas of growth within SEM
• Stay informed of latest trends in the industry with constant research in the SEM community and implement strategies accordingly
• Build and manage strong relationships with search engines and other vendors
• Navigate a variety of search analytics tools to mine the appropriate performance data (experience with Google Analytics, Omniture, CoreMetrics and other analytics programs is an asset)
Essential skills and qualities:
• Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in marketing, advertising, computer science, communication or math, or commensurate experience
• 3-5 years’ experience in paid search or related field
• Must be able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of paid search and best practices
• Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven environment
• Experience managing team members
• Proven ability to identify data trends and build long-term, strategic plans
• Experience managing P&L
• Proven success in executing various bidding tactics to reach goals
• Experience with A/B or multivariate testing and defining creative requirements for landing page or site testing
• Proven success optimizing and planning ad copy for increased CTR, CR and QS
• Experience with search bid tools preferred
• Qualified Google Advertising Professional status; other search engines a plus
• Self-directed and able to working independently, but recognizes the requirements of contributing in a team environment
• Strong research skills
• Advanced knowledge of Excel
