SEM / Pay-Per-Click Marketing Manager

Our CLIENT, a leading business payments network, is looking for an experienced SEM / Pay-Per-Click Marketing Manager in a full-time, temp-to-perm capacity. This position is on-site in Palo Alto.

Purpose of Role:

Plan, develop, execute and manage SEM/Pay-Per-Click Demand Generation strategy and campaigns to support SMB, Accounting and Bank channel growth targets. 

Expected Outcomes  - Linked to business strategy/ (12 mos. Horizon)

 Responsible for building, growing, and maximizing the sales and profitability of BDCs paid search marketing efforts.

 Manage the search marketing budget for supported channels

 Own all paid search performance metrics, and be expected to achieve and exceed budget and ROI goals 


 Plan, launch, and optimize PPC campaigns across Google, Bing, Yahoo!, and other auction based engines to maximize sales growth while maintaining profitability

 Lead performance analysis and long-term strategic roadmaps for high level campaigns

 Manage search budgets and build budget and performance projections

 Regular monitoring and optimization      

 Perform keyword research and monitor competitors

 Run ongoing A/B testing

 Leverage Google analytics and other tools to improve campaign performance

 Manage relationships with key search partners to improve efficiency and scalability of current search marketing efforts, learn about new features and opportunities

 Work closely with cross-functional members to optimize paid search efforts through new landing page construction, creative testing, and research.

 Collaborate with Website Manager to track interaction between SEO and SEM and identify opportunities for sales growth and cost savings

 Drive search reporting to measure, evaluate, and identify opportunities to improve conversion, drive sales, improve search efficiency (including weekly, monthly and ad hoc reporting)

 Keep current with search best practices, search technology, keyword development, bid management tools, search trends, and changes and developments in the industry

Requirements for Success:

 5-7 years of pay-per-click experience with proven success executing paid digital media

 Experience with SEM analytics tools

 Curious, creative, and interested in pushing B2B performance marketing forward

 Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

 Self-driven, entrepreneur with a high sense of urgency and detail-oriented work ethic

 Ability to communicate and work in a cross-functional team environment to achieve common objectives

 Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

 Google Analytics and/or other web analytics experience is a plus

 Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal

 Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
