Retail Vendor Manager / Brand Specialist

My client is seeking creative, goal-oriented and highly entrepreneurial people to join their exciting and fast-paced team. They're looking for a smart, eager, hard-working, creative candidate with strong merchandising, organizational, and analytical skills. This candidate will play a critical role in helping manage the business of one of our strategic vendors in Sports Apparel. They are focused on growing and developing a smart assortment of brands and providing easy access to apparel. The candidate will be the primary contact for the Sports Apparel Team at this Global ECommerce company, for the vendor partner, and will coordinate both the buying and marketing components of the business. They will work closely with the vendor managers/buyers to develop and execute merchandise strategies. Also, they will create and implement site strategy and marketing efforts.

In this role, a successful candidate will be an effective communicator and problem-solver and someone who is able to balance the needs and requirements of both the company and the strategic vendor. This role is an ideal start to a dynamic career path within this confidential company's fashion department. The candidate will develop skills and work across all functional retail areas to grow and improve their vendor partner’s success on the company's retail platform. This contractor will be responsible for the operations side of the team's work with one of their main vendors. The vendor is a premier sports brand. The contractor will place orders, resolve issues with purchase orders, and do anything that needs to be done related to the specific vendor's needs to make sure their products are successful on the company site. The contractor will have constant communication with the vendor by email/phone and with internal company teams. The contractor needs to be good with data manipulation and Excel. They need to know pivot tables and vlookups.

Other key tasks will include the following:
Analyze sales and supply chain metrics to identify business opportunities
Provide recommendations to improve supply chain performance
Investigate and resolve customer-supplier issues
Coordinate and create launch plans for new products
Develop product forecasts and suggested buy quantities
Develop reporting for merchandise and marketing campaigns

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
1-3+ years of retail buying management and/or online experience
Experience utilizing Excel to analyze a business
Experience using data to support business decisions
Highly skilled with software and database tools
Proven track record of success in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
Strong organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, and time management
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization
Proactive attitude, detail-oriented, and a team player
Fashion or apparel industry experience
