Retail Planner

Our Fortune 500 Client is looking for a Planner/Analyst. This individual will be responsible for accurate demand forecasting, sourcing/purchasing, replenishment and analysis of new and existing products, supplies and collateral at the SKU and store levels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Forecasting
Develop stock plans and SKU levels.
Develop strategy for new product launches: forecast total demand, initial sell-through, and annual sell-through.
Partner with Marketing to understand positioning of new SKUs from initial launch through lifecycle.
Develop and maintain forecast accuracy metrics; review SKU forecasts vs. actual demand on monthly or quarterly basis as necessary.
Participate in projects to improve forecasting accuracy and effectiveness.
Compile and analyze sales data to prepare demand forecasts based on historic trends; submit demand forecasts to corporate.
Inventory Management
Monitor stock levels by SKU to ensure optimum inventory balance.
Monitor sales of new launches to ensure immediate reorders as necessary.
Communicate significant changes in SKU forecasts
Manage risk of overstock
Maintain item master file and stock replenishment settings in Retail/POS system; collaborate with corporate partners to ensure accuracy and consistency of product information.
Submit, confirm and monitor purchase orders through internal systems, and with external vendors, to ensure timely and accurate flow of inventory to stores.
Maintain and communicate replenishment/shipment dates to BPs and RBPs.

Qualifications:
Ability to analyze sales results and identify factors relating to business opportunities and risks.
Exceptional mathematical and statistical aptitude with practical experience in retail forecasting preferred.
Ability to filter and prioritize sources of information and identify emerging trends.
Agility in gathering and interpreting data. Strong analytical and problem solving skills and ability to pay attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills; strong team orientation.
Flexible to changes in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Must be able to multi-task while accommodating changing priorities.
Strong listening, written, and oral skills that demonstrate logical analysis.
Knowledge to create ad hoc reports as needed to study and analyze various aspects of forecasting.
Strong computer skills including but not limited to Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook.
Manage all required administrative duties effectively, accurately and in a timely manner.
College graduate or equivalent experience preferred.
Minimum 3 years in a retail or wholesale planning or forecasting role preferred.
Fluency in verbal and written English.
