Retail Channel Marketing Specialist

Our client, a leading creative software company, is looking for a Retail Channel Marketing Specialist for a long-term contract opportunity.

The Retail Channel Marketing Specialist will be responsible for the implementation of channel marketing programs and provide overall channel marketing support for Retail Partners. The position requires close interaction with channel marketing, product marketing, and sales teams. The Channel Marketing Specialist has primary responsibility for the execution of marketing plans to drive sales and profitability within the Retail channel.

Responsibilities
• Support tactical execution of retails marketing plans, and work with the sales organization to effectively implement Retail programs and initiatives.
• Assist the Channel Marketing Manager(s) and work closely with sales and marketing team members on various tasks.
• Develop superior working relationship with key individuals and groups within company and Retail Partners. Gain respect and support needed from all parties to ensure results, even when a direct reporting relationship is not present.
• Design, communicate, implement, monitor, and (if necessary) re-design the critical processes required to ensure goals are consistently achieved for the Retail Channel. Critical process areas include, but are not limited to:
o Merchandising & Cross-Merchandising planning.
o Promotional programming & sell-thru initiatives.
o Retail partner training and enablement.
o New product launches and success tracking.
o Retailer rebates & MDF Program.
• Track ROI on channel marketing programs and initiatives.
• Conduct ROI simulations for promotions, channel programs and special pricing.
• Monitor marketing fund utilization and spending.
• Provide field analysis on key trends, competitive activity, and general marketplace activity.
• Contribute to the development and subsequent execution of short and long range strategic plans, to include situational analysis, business performance analysis, strategic objectives, tactical plans, critical success factors, as well as budgeting.
• Coordinate communication between functions and within functions at Company, and between Company and the Retail channel.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field.
• 3 years of experience in marketing, sales, or channel management experience. (The client is willing to review recent graduates with Marketing a degree and an internship in Marketing and/or a candidate who has experience in software sales that wants to move to the marketing side of the business.)
• Previous experience in software marketing.
• Prior experience working with retail channel.
• Previous experience with development and implementation of promotional programs.
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, to include the ability to develop high quality working relationships both internally and externally.
• Ability to follow instruction and work in a self-managed capacity.
• Effective communication and presentation skills, including the ability to research, develop and deliver compelling marketing presentations and promotions to the sales team.
• Strong planning and organizational skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Good writing skills, and the ability to produce customer facing documents.
• Ability to prepare detailed financial and ROI analysis.
• Must be comfortable utilizing Microsoft Excel. -- putting together analysis, marketing campaigns etc.
