Responsive Web Designer/Developer

On-site Contract position (6mos/+)

Conceptualizes, designs, and codes client website and associated components, including promotional emails, online advertising banners, animations, and other digital assets.
Maintains and further develops client’s digital brand with compelling graphics and layout to guide the digital experience while maintaining the integrity of client’s established brand standards.

Creates wireframes and codes webpages/websites using standards compliant HTML5 and CSS3/Sass.

Performs optimization, debugging, and troubleshooting of code, implements cross-browser compatibility, tests and monitors client website and ensures optimum performance, usability, and accessibility.

Performs routine web updates and enhancements, maintains site and assists in quality assurance to ensure both design integrity and functional usability.

Serves as division’s liaison to IT developers to discuss and determine integration of front-end code base with web applications.

Bachelors Degree in Web design and/or Multimedia Arts.

Minimum five (5) years of experience:
- As a web designer in an advertising agency, corporate marketing, or web/interactive development environment.

- With industry-standard graphics applications including the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat) and wireframing/prototyping tools.

- With standards-compliant front-end web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3 (ideally with a preprocessor such as Sass), and WAI-ARIA.

Proficiency with JavaScript (with experience using a JavaScript framework such as jQuery a plus), Flash, XML, command-line interface, and Apache are a plus.

Knowledge and a desire to learn about emerging web technologies and best practices, particularly security, usability, user experience, and W3C web content accessibility standards.

Experience with responsive web design and development, device testing, best practices, and browser compatibility.

Proficiency in SVN or GIT or other version control software and experience in a shared file environment.

Experience working with an enterprise content management system preferred.

Proficiency with design on a Macintosh platform with knowledge of PC environments for cross-platform testing and compatibility.

Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
