Research Manager (Media and Ad Sales)

Online Ad Sales Research within client seeks a Research Manager to support online Sales in the Chicago office. This person will play a key role in the development of data driven stories which differentiate portfolio of websites from the competition. This role will be responsible for data mining and analysis to support sales efforts for the West and Chicago region; working directly with Sales by providing these differentiating points for emails, client presentations and proposals.

· Provide compelling stories utilizing secondary research tools (Nielsen, comScore) and consumer insights studies to ad sales team to use in client meeting presentations and proposals

Develop sales collaterals/positioning with guidance from the Director
Build internal knowledge base of trends and create consumer insight decks for use by sales team on child/mom online behaviors using syndicated research (MRI, Simmons, Trend Tracker, etc.)
Explore and recommend alternative research approaches (e.g. online mom communities, marketer, etc) to expand research tool set
· Pull spending and account data in support of Ad Sales strategy and prospect activities

Will proactively mine data to provide additional insights and deep understanding of traffic and audiences across a variety of sites and media, including mobile and video
· Build market trend reports using various tools to better enhance ad market intelligence

· Develop Industry /market intelligence reports and competitive analyses to provide sales with additional ammunition

Respond to sales teams needs for guidance in utilization of research tools and client questions
· Answer ad hoc requests on traffic of various Disney Online properties, Video and Mobile use

Bachelor's Degree Science/Arts/Psychology/Business/Statistics/Math/Communications or related field required
3-5 years of experience in media research with at least 1 year specifically in digital media research
· Experience in working at a digital media agency

Prior experience with syndicated online measurement services, tools and data, including Nielsen and comScore is required
The position requires a broad understanding of the digital/technology space and media landscape
Ability to work under tight multiple deadlines and manage project load
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills are mandatory

Excellent computer skills – Proficient with MS PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Graphics knowledge is a plus
