Our client is looking for a QA Specialist, contract to hire role. See below for detail.

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Quality Specialist who takes pride in ensuring quality of work process, products and services. Someone who loves working across cross-functional teams and aiming for continuous improvements. This role will bridge Product Development, Operations and Warehouse, with the responsibility of seeing product and process quality through from concept, to manufacturing, to fulfillment. The Quality Specialist will liaise between the client and its contract manufacturers to communicate quality requirements and ensure activities are tracked and met.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure marketing claims are accurate through third-party lab testing
  • Evaluate and report out vendor performance using compliance scorecards based on product failure rate
  • Review and report status of pre-production, during production, pre-shipment and incoming inspections
  • Responsible for documentation of product quality reports, factory audits and scorecards
  • Identify Corrective Action and Continuous Improvement of quality processes and ensure closed-loop Corrective Action. Internal process evaluation for CAP implementation
  • Create and write product instruction manual
  • Manage and review the completion, accuracy and quality of information in Bill-of-Materials and Specification Sheet
  • Create and update the QA / QC Standard Operating Procedure
  • Analyze field failure and provide feedback to Product Development and Customer Service
  • Identify replacement parts needed for After Sales Service and Warranty Claim

NOTE: International Travel required. Approximately two annual trips overseas and two annual trips domestic.

REQUIRED SKILL SET

  • Clear communicator and possess the ability to present to upper management and key stake holders throughout the organization

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project)
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing consumer goods

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of industry related experience
  • Experienced with retail customers and consumer goods
  • Chinese manufacturing experience is a plus!
