Our client is a huge technology client based in Reading who is looking to recruit multiple publishing assistants for their gaming team.

Salary £20,000 - £25,000 per annum
Based in Reading
To start ASAP
Contracts will run until 30th June 2014

Job Mission:
To support the Programming team with the publishing of the Hompage, Gaming and Video & Music promotions across the UK & European locales.

The team is responsible for publishing promotional content, working with a variety of partners to develop promotion ideas, build appropriate graphics and experiences, manage publishing schedules, and ensure user experience meets the highest bar for quality, consistency, and technical accuracy.

Key areas of responsibility:
- Reporting into a Producer, this role is to support the EMEA Programming team with the publishing of unique promotions in up to 17 EMEA locales.
- Using proprietary CMS tools, build & publish content on a weekly basis, according to schedule.
- Adhere to all deadlines and escalate potential issues as necessary.
- Ensuring programming and projects follow internal policies & procedures and actively seek any changes in policies.
- Update Producer clearly and regularly on status of all weekly tasks and on-going projects.
- Attend regular meetings as requested by Producer.
- Adhere to internal pre-Localisation and Localisation policies with all translation vendors, including meeting of deadlines & adherence to length restrictions and escalate issues to Producer.
- Coordinate graphic asset requests.
- Develop intimate knowledge of bespoke content management tools in order to create content and resolve technical issues autonomously

- Methodical error proof method of working
- Quick transition into team – getting up to speed on tools and the EMEA focus
- Keep the channels fresh with new content on a daily/weekly basis across all markets with 100% accuracy
- Demonstrates ability to manage and resolve technical issues
- Understands regional sensitivities and priorities
- Identifies asset requirements with keen attention to detail
- Aids in the production and construction of content using content management tools
- Works well as part of a team, as well as independently
- Proactive with fast reaction skills when content may require changing/updating quickly

Experience and Professional Qualification Requirements:

Essential:
- A strong proficiency with content management tools and processes
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience of working in a deadline-driven environment
- Experience of working to schedules in a daily or weekly content publishing environment
- Ability to absorb & note information in meetings and support Producer
- Proven working knowledge in creating content for multiple audience types in an online environment, preferably in the entertainment industry
- HTML5, CSS, JavaScript proficient
- Experience & proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- A basic knowledge of Photoshop
- BA/BS or equivalent

Desirable:
- Fluency in one more European languages beneficial but not essential
- Strong editorial skills, particularly an ability to write concise headlines and descriptions that adhere to tight character restrictions
- Degree in information management, communications, English, journalism or related discipline

- A passion for entertainment and new media technologies, reflected by a high level of knowledge of both fields

BIG PLUS: 6 months - 1 year of production experience in a publishing or in other media companies required. Knowledge of word processing, database and spreadsheets required. Must have the ability to manage daily workload. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Must have a high attention to detail. Some editorial experience preferred. Bachelor's degree in English, Communications or a related field preferred.
