Responsibilities:
• Write feature and news articles, tutorials, announcements, and items
• Rewrite copy supplied by subject matter experts
• Edit copy to comply with each publication's purpose and style under the direction of senior editors
• Fact check copy and test tutorials for usability
• Support the publication of these magazines in print, on the web, and as mobile apps
• Keep current on products, services, and events as well as the geospatial industry
• Interview clients, managers, and others to collect material for articles
• Interact with customers to understand their needs and desires and better support them

Requirements:
• Bachelor's in GIS, journalism, English, marketing, or a related field
• 2+ years of professional experience working in both writing and editing roles and experience writing a variety of materials
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An understanding of and passion for GIS
• An enthusiasm for science and technology
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
• An understanding of the publication process

Recommended Qualifications:
• Familiarity with or experience in the use of GIS software
• Demonstrated capacity for understanding marketing strategies and objectives

You must work onsite. This is a 6-month temp assignment with the possibility of going full-time.
