One of our valued clients in the oilfield technology industry is seeking a PR Manager for a temp to perm role.
Ideal candidate will be able to commit to this role ASAP.

The candidate will be responsible for setting the companies media and PR strategy for the corporate office and will oversee media strategy for the business units.

Primary Responsibilities include:
Reporting directly to the director of corporate communications, the public relations manager will lead the company's media outreach efforts and develop and implement strategic public relations to support business strategies and to create and maintain a favorable public image. This person must have a history of working with leading media, developing materials for external audiences, overseeing executive speaking engagements and managing social media PR. The PR manager must be able to work professionally and diplomatically with all stakeholders. This role requires a strategic thinker who can create and integrate projects with consistent messages, a high degree of quality and tight deadlines.

Key Duties
• Develops and implements strategic public relations plans to generate awareness of the company's products and services and to promote the company's thought leadership amongst target audiences via traditional, digital and social media.
• Works with business partners and external PR partners (where appropriate) to develop, write, solicit and place contributed articles, bylines, editorials and other key mentions.
• Speaks to the media on behalf of the company, responding to local, national and global media requests for information, expert point of view or corporate commentary.
• Consults with internal experts on content and leads the development of strategic key messages.
• Crafts responses that articulate key messages in ways that will be easily understood by reporters, editors and their audiences.
• Builds and maintains a strong network of media contacts and engages in proactive media outreach and responds to inquiries in a timely manner.
• Develops and implements strategies for generating publicity via social media "buzz."
• Establishes processes to generate a steady volume of news releases to support products, programs and initiatives and distributes to targeted media.
• Develops and manages process to post news releases, photos and press kits to the company website and distributes news releases via online news release distribution services.
• Leads news release process to ensure adherence with disclosure and other policy requirements and ensure appropriate review of information for public release prior to dissemination.
• Maintains editorial calendar and all print and electronic media tools including press kits, fact sheets and photo/video files.
• Provides writing, editing and project management support for external communications materials such as news releases, biographies, speeches, executive presentations, articles, annual reports, investor materials and corporate publications.
• Ensures editorial quality in all external communications materials.
• Provides media relations support at trade shows and events.
• Produces and maintains PR content for external website and social media channels.
• Continually tracks trends and scouts new technologies and tactics to stay current with the changing role of public relations in an evolving digital/social media world.
• Provides strategic consultation and coaching in instances where it is appropriate for leadership to address the media on behalf of the company.
• Ensures all corporate leaders and key personnel are equipped with appropriate media training.
• Coordinates participation in and provides required information for media-driven surveys/rankings.
• Manages crisis communications program and engages outside consultants for assistance when the level of risk is high and/or internal capacity is unavailable.
• Serves as company representative in various associations and public affairs efforts such as Energy Nation and API outreach and external corporate social responsibility, sustainability and community outreach efforts.
• Develops method for tracking, measuring and reporting PR success.

Education, experience and skills required:
• Bachelor’s degree in communications-related field
• Minimum of seven years experience in communications
• Exceptional writing and editing skills with a working knowledge of AP Stylebook guidelines
• Public relations and social media industry awareness
• SEO copywriting
• Writes creative, compelling and grammatically correct copy, incorporating key messages
• Experience working with technical subject matter experts to develop copy that is clear and understandable to a non-technical audience
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet established deadlines
• Ability to serve and function effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary and global team
• Ability to react and respond to changing priorities and manage a complex and diverse workload in a dynamic, fast-paced culture; self starter, multi-task oriented
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
• Ability to exhibit professionalism and leadership in representing the organization both internally and externally
• Willing to travel at least 25%
