Public Relations Manager

The PR Manager will play an active role on the public relations and marketing team, including writing effective marketing materials, developing and implementing creative ideas, supporting media relations and brand marketing, successfully coordinating and managing projects and events, and providing support of the overall marketing and sales functions.

1. Writes press and marketing materials to promote a range of products and brands
2. Develops relationships with journalists and bloggers (consumer & trade) and pitches story ideas to secure media placements
3. Manages projects and events, from concept to completion to support brands, products and franchise
4. Works with social media team to promote content via Facebook and Twitter
5. Supports franchise marketing for multiple brands and assists ad sales with assigned projects
6. Coordinates with PR, brand marketing and design to create unique collateral
7. Brainstorms and executes promotional ideas
8. Compiles weekly/monthly/quarterly marketing communications reports
9. Researches thought leadership opportunities and awards
10. Identifies, purchases and maintains inventory

Candidate must have college degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, English or related-field of study. Candidate must have 3-5 years of experience working in a PR, advertising or marketing department in an agency or corporate environment.

Candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Candidate must be a critical thinker with strong analytical skills, have the ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressured, hectic environment, and the ability to work independently and with a team. Must also be able to successfully meet deadlines, prioritize ever-changing workload, be extremely flexible and able to manage multiple projects. Should be a creative problem solver.

Candidate with established media contacts is a plus.

2-4 years work related experience in a leadership role preferred. Requires the ability to be persuasive in sensitive situations, influencing the thinking and gaining the acceptance of others. Excellent communication skills required. Bachelor's degree in Communications or related field required.
