Public Relations & Social Media Coordinator

The Public Relations Coordinator responsibilities include: 


Public Relations 
• Write and distribute press releases, statements, and other communications materials under tight deadlines 
• Manage press lists, media tracking and reporting 
• Build relationships with media and member PR contacts 
• Serve as primary liaison to other client departments for press release writing and PR/social media outreach needs
• Monitor editorial calendars and speaking opportunities 
• Develop PR plans to support client programs, events, etc. 
• Other duties as assigned 
 

Social Media 
• Develop, curate, and monitor client’s social media platforms, maintaining consistency in voice and content 
• In coordination with Comms/PR leadership, develop and execute social media strategy for the association; maintain social media calendar 
• Live Tweet client events and activities, including client Annual Conference 
• Develop outreach strategy and social media toolkit for members and exhibitors attending client conferences 
• Track and report meaningful social media metrics. Develop tactics to increase engagement 


Qualifications: 
• Bachelor’s degree preferred with minimum 2 years’ experience (may include relevant internships) 
• Public Relations/Communications, English, or Marketing major is a plus 
• Experience working with media monitoring services and reporter database search services (e.g., Meltwater) 
• Experience working with social media content and analytics (e.g., via Hootsuite, Google Analytics) 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products 
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and InDesign) desirable 
• Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment 
• Detail orientation and ability to establish and maintain record-keeping system and files 
• Professional demeanor; flexibility; ability to work in team environment
