Public Relations & Communications Manager (contract to hire)

Our client, a world wide leader in the travel & leisure industry is looking for a Public Relations & Communications Manager to join their team on an immediate basis.

The Role:
• Lead strategic development and holistic execution of a comprehensive annual public relations program for partner travel brands (3), with oversight from VP of Marketing and regular consultation from global PR teams, as well as potential management of 3rd party contract support.
• Annual PR budget development (with VP of Marketing) and budget management.
• Representation of our brands as well as our parent company, TTC (The Travel Corporation), including joint efforts and best-practice sharing with sister brand PR leads and executives.
• Development of and reporting on monthly/quarterly/annual media outreach plans and key programs with regular communications to executive teams, including weekly pitch reports.
• Be the singular “go to” person for all PR requests, major programs and projects and crisis communications for all 3 brands
• Collaborate with brand president and global CEO for interviews and quotes, including interview briefings and strategic messaging recommendations.
• As a member of the marketing team, ensure PR strategies are in alignment with and integrated within all current marketing strategies; contributing strategic ideas to enhance general programs.
• Write and edit press releases, media kits, fact sheets, PR materials, executive interview briefs and other brand related written materials, effectively leading and contributing strategic input.
• Develop mastership of ‘brand tone of voice’ in order to support editing and proof-reading of all-department marketing collateral.
• Conduct extensive on-going media pitching to develop strong B2B and B2C media relationships resulting in regular brandcoverage.
• Manage media lists and other reporting within NASDAQ media platform.
• Proactively build relationships with travel trade and key national and local consumer media, tourist boards, key media influencers, bloggers and any brand ambassadors resulting in regular trade media coverage portraying our brands/figureheads as industry leaders, among other opportunities.
• Concept and execute for all key strategies, including media events, press trips, local event support, key campaigns, etc.
• Direct regional social media efforts in conjunction with corresponding teams, including on-going messaging oversight for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. Develop and manage social strategies for key executives.
• Contribute to global brand public relations brand strategies, including regularly communicating with global teams and stakeholders, sharing ideas and influencing messaging and initiatives.
• Support other marketing and PR projects on an as-needed basis.
• Develop and execute new internal communications programs to better bridge between other departments, including reservations, field sales teams, groups, etc.
• Other duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications
• Employment Experience: Minimum 7-10 years public relations experience
• Education, Licensure, Certification: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications, Journalism, English or other PR related

Technical Skills:
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communcation skills required; especially copywriting and the ability
• Vision Requirements: Vision correctable to 20/20 with reasonable accommodation required. Ability to look at a
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required.
• Internet proficiency required. Knowledge of or the ability to learn in-house reservations system
required. Experience with NASDAQ media platform (or similar) a plus; to articulate key brand messaging.
• Ability to interact with all levels of staff required.
