Proposal Marketing Specialist

Our client in Cleveland  is looking for as needed support from a marketing specialist to support proposal and presentation layout, production, and editing. This position requires attention to detail, creativity, proactive interpersonal and communication skills, organization skills, conceptual thinking skills, effective decision-making, and document production skills. Work may be performed under the direction of the department manager, marketing managers, or business development staff, but the position will report directly to the department manager. Tasks may include any or all of the below: • Providing conceptual input for document design while ensuring Request for Proposal (RFP) instructions pertaining to format, fonts, etc. are being followed along with internal branding guidelines • Creating and updating graphics, including organization charts, maps, flow charts, infographics, and matrices.  Copy editing proposal content such as executive summaries, resumes, project descriptions, and other narratives • Performing final layout in Word, InDesign, or other programs, as well as production of hard copies as required • Proactively conduct quality assurance/quality control on proposal/marketing materials through strong grammatical skills and attention to consistency and detail • Formatting and developing graphics for white papers, other technical submittals, and award nomination packages • Using strong organizational and time management skills to juggle multiple tasks with differing deadlines and consistently produce a professional document • Other duties as assigned Our work has non-negotiable deadlines, so a critical requirement for this position is being able to complete work on schedule. Candidates must be able to work quickly with minimal supervision, and be able to effectively prioritize multiple projects to meet competing deadlines. Work may occasionally be required in the evenings or weekends to meet deadlines or to coordinate with staff in different time zones. Minimum Requirements • Minimum associates degree in graphic design, visual communications, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, and abilities performing document production and graphics services • 3+ years of experience with document layout, graphic design, and editing of marketing communications or technical documents • Advanced ability to work in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign.  An ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment are necessary • A can-do attitude and willingness to find new ways to do things Preferred Qualifications • The ideal candidate with have industry (AEC/environmental) experience with a range of markets (architectural, engineering, infrastructure, environmental, etc.) • Training/knowledge of a wide application of design principles, theories, and concepts is preferred • The ideal candidate is someone who is creative and will bring proactive ideas for design and layout, compared to simply putting material designed by others into a graphics program Strong preference for talent that has Excellent Word Skills and some Graphic Design skills. Must be resourceful and willing to be flexible 50% document layout and formatting 50% developing graphics using indesign or illustrator or photoshop 2-5 years of experience and can handle the word processing, the formatting and graphics as well could go either way, open to someone who is more junior that has solid word skills and intermediate graphic design skills and have them develop there skills as they go along, on the other hand if there is somebody who has very advanced design skills she feels they might get a bit bored.
