Aquent is seeking a Desktop Publisher for a full-time, on-site role seated in Washington DC for a Fortune 500 company. The Desktop Publisher/Editor (DTP) is responsible for a full range of support for Requests for Proposal (RFP), Invitation for Bid (IFB) and Request for Information (RFI’s), including formatting, style guides, compliance matrices and editing. The DTP will provide support of the full proposal lifecycle.

ROLE OVERVIEW:
* Format documents in compliance with strict instructions provided in a solicitation, while performing around tight schedules.
* Review, interpret, and apply the solicitation section(s) that prescribe the formatting, preparation, and packaging requirements of the proposal.
* Prepare the Proposal Production Plan form, indicating any scheduling constraints, and determining materials needed for production. Present plan to the Proposal Manager and Coordinator for consensus and implementation.
* Create a response template , adhering to the formatting instructions in the solicitation.
* Format the response documents at various stages of the proposal development by applying the template’s paragraph and font styles, integrating graphics/charts/tables with text, performing spell-checks, adding/updating references and index tables (e.g., table of contents, acronyms list), and checking for layout consistency and visual appeal.
* Perform reproduction, collating, binding, and packaging activities of proposal deliverables. Prepare files for electronic submission and/or burn CDs/DVDs as outlined in Proposal Production Plan.
* Maintain the Hardcopy Library of submitted proposals.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
* Proficiency in MS Office 2007/2010 applications (primarily in MS Word) in a Windows environment.
* Knowledge of MS Project, Visio, and SharePoint, as well as Adobe products (Illustrator and Acrobat Professional) is a plus.
* Experience inproposal preparation and document production in a Federal government contracting environment.
* Bachelor's degree in Communication, English, or Graphic Arts, or equivalent. Minimum of 4 years of additional work experience can be substituted for degree.
