A Corporate Marketing/Creative team at a top financial services company in San Francisco is needing the help of a Copywriter/Proofreader for a long term freelance role.

They are seeking someone to handle the day­-to-­day proofreading and copy editing assignments and to create content for the web and print, including brochures, letters, flyers, promotions,email templates, presentations, proposals and website pages.

Responsibilities:

● Work directly with Marketing Communications Team to create, proofread and edit content for the web and print, including brochures, letters, flyers, promotions, email templates, presentations, proposals and website pages

● Partner with other departments to translate product offerings and new initiatives into content for various mediums and verify accuracy

● Develop strong understanding of product offerings to discern what’s appropriate to include in each piece of collateral

● Become expert in brand voice and style

● Translate financial, legal or technical terminology into clear, conversational language

● Create intelligent, original and effective copy to drive brand awareness, growth and engagement across multiple channels

● Work closely with Compliance Team to vet and approve final versions

● Partner with designers and external vendors to make content come to life

● Deliver consistent, accurate and high ­quality content

● Identifying spelling, grammar and punctuation errors.

● Fact=­checking all content and work closely with Compliance Team to vet and approve final versions.

● Ensuring copy is clear and that the messaging is on strategy and adheres to standards.

● Reviewing copy for comprehension and flow, and making suggestions when appropriate.

● Partner with designers and external vendors to edit deliverables in art such as missing copy, wrong fonts and alignment problems.

● Wear various ‘marketing hats,’ when needed

Desired Skills and Experience:

● Degree in Communications/Public Relations/Advertising.

● Minimum 5­7 years of experience in an internal marketing department or agency required.

● Possess a strong command of grammar, spelling and style.

● Eye for design/layout/formatting.

● Excellent organizational and time management skills.

● Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities.

● Accountable for meeting tight deadlines and possess a sense of urgency.

● Other important characteristics include a strong work ethic, self­starter, strong attention to detail, creative and a team player to ensure positive fit with company culture.

● Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, familiarity with design software and email marketing tools.

● Must have strong verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
