Proofreader needed! Proofreading documents of a technical and statistical nature in order to reconcile revisions and to check spelling, punctuation and formatting. Conducts complete read of documents for correct grammar, language usage, consistent presentation of names/acronyms and to verify footing and cross footing of financial statements. Checks in with customers regarding correct proofreading standards, client-specific requests and standard styles.

DUTIES:
•Reads original document and/or proofs against copy and manuscript to detect and mark for correction, typographical, grammatical or mathematical errors using standard proofreading editing marks
•Reviews documents for layout of text and graphics
•Makes electronic corrections and rearranges text under established formats and styles •Communicates and consults with work originators regarding various levels of quality assurance and correct usage of grammar and sentence structure
•Tracks changes
•May communicate and negotiate project deadlines, project scope and schedule changes as necessary
•May create timelines and cost estimates for client approval
•Accurately assesses project requirements, identifies issues, makes decisions and provides solutions
•Problem solves

REQUIREMENTS:
•Excellent proofreading and documentation skills on hard copy or electronically�
•Exceptional attention to detail
•Strong communication and teamwork skills
•Advanced knowledge of grammar, punctuation, usage and use of style manuals
•Ability to do a comparison read and straight reads
•Ability to apply existing standards to new/different documents
•Proficient computer and Microsoft Word skills and Adobe Acrobat
•Speed and accuracy are crucial to this position
•Overtime required as necessary, often on a last-minute basis
•Minimum of 2 years of related experience
•Will work 4 weekdays and Saturdays (flexible on which weekday off - Saturdays will be worked at home, the rest of the week in the office - schedule can be 9:00-6:00 or 10:00-7:00)

EDUCATION:
•Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
•Bachelor’s degree in English and/or related discipline, or equivalent work experience preferred
