Our large financial services client is looking for a proofreader to join their creative services team for a 6+ month project. Previous experience in a large financial services company preferred.


Reads original copy, or proofs typed setup, to detect and mark grammatical, typographical, mathematical, or compositional errors.

Reads copy attentively, marking errors with standard proofreaders' marks. Returns marked proof for correction.

Reviews proof after revisions are made to be sure that all corrections have been made.
May make corrections to original document.

May proof for format, style, or design, which may include measuring dimensions, spacing, and positioning of page elements to verify conformance to specifications.

May also support copywriting for projects.

Additional responsibilities are as follows:
• Ensure grammatical integrity; i.e., correct syntax, punctuation, spelling
• Adhere to AP style, the companies Style Guide and individual business segment style guides, in addition to correct usage of U.S. trademarks
• Maintain style consistency across all literature; scrutinize text for inconsistencies in treatment of terms, capitalization, fonts, pt. sizes, leading and tracking
• Flag need for revisions/rewrites when copy is off-message
