Agency has an immediate need for a Proofreader but is also good at making type corrections and version control. You must be able to keep edited files organized and keep an accurate record of documents that have multiple updates and, therefore, multiple versions. Must have strong attention to detail, efficient typing & file management skills, plus proficiency in proofreading.

This position is primarily responsible for proofreading, style consistency and legal verbiage reviews of client work and internal agency materials for all agency projects, and clearly communicating those necessary changes to other departments we work with. The position’s responsibilities span everything from proofreading and editing national print, radio, TV, CRM/Social and interactive ads to more customized regional pieces, utilizing both traditional hard-copy and newer digital (PDF) methods to communicate feedback. Additionally, this person will assist the Broadcast Traffic Managers and Copywriters with entering changes in copy directly into TV and radio scripts and Word documents.

• Proofread all agency advertising pieces from comp stage to printer proofs and final TV spot edits.
• Common pieces include: pitch materials, comps, print ads, direct mail pieces, social media copy, POS pieces, billboards, radio scripts, TV scripts and Interactive images and copy decks.
• Clearly communicate required changes via standard proofreaders’ marks, or – when requested – by inputting changes directly into Word documents.
• Review ads and copy decks to align with current client style/terminology & legal wishes.
• Keep current on changes and modifications in client style/terminology in partnership with the Product Information Department.
• Keep current on changes and modifications in legal copy needs in partnership with the Account teams and the Product Information Department.
• Work closely with Copywriters, Project Managers, Interactive Producers, Product Information and Print Production to ensure quick and accurate review routing.
• Enter review routing changes from all departments directly into Word documents & scripts accurately.
• Manage revision numbers so versions are clearly defined.
• Save documents to correct folders and maintain organization on servers.

• Extraordinary focus and attention to detail.
• Ability to type and format documents with a high level of speed and accuracy.
• Ability to seek out the answers to any lingering questions within a review round.
• Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• 4-year degree in an English-related major preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year professional proofreading experience in agency setting preferred.
• Solid familiarity with AP Style Guide and complementary reference manuals.
• Familiarity with Automotive industry and its terminolgy preferred.
• Strong computer skills (both PC & Mac) in Word, Acrobat/Reader, Quicktime, Excel and PowerPoint. Additional knowledge of Basecamp and Workzone is helpful.
• Superior typing skills and folder organization in a digital environment (server locations, etc.)
