Project Manager/Communication Designer

As a hybrid Project Manager/Communication Designer on the User Experience Research team at this very popular tech company, you will be responsible for taking user research findings, insights, and data and crafting them into compelling, engaging, and memorable messages. You will also help promote the team’s findings by creating and organizing newsletters, summaries, and research events. Additional duties will include helping the team stay organized by updating the team website, research database and calendar.

Responsibilities: Project Manager
Maintaining research infrastructure (e.g. research archive, research schedules)
Update the team website, research database,
Updating the research calendar
Create quarterly research newsletters
Note taking for UER meetings, managing action items
Planning and organizing research events (such as the research expo)
Assisting with competitive analyses, cafe studies, and other research projects

Responsibilities: Communication Designer

Partner with the team of user experience researchers to create print and digital materials that disseminate key research findings
Create engaging infographics and information visualizations based on qualitative and quantitative data.
Develop simple, clear communication tools to make the research data memorable and actionable.
Create interactive experiences and events that allow people to explore and engage with the data.
Recommend and implement new strategies for communicating research findings to our stakeholders.
Create storyboards to illustrate new concepts or existing customer journeys
Create highlight videos/screenshots
Create posters from personas, customer journeys, or other key findings

Minimum qualifications:
A degree in relevant field - information design, communication arts, graphic design, technical communication, cognitive psychology, HCI/computer science. In lieu of degree, 4 years of relevant work experience.
Excellent written and visual communication skills.
A portfolio of print and online work that includes information visualizations.
Creative problem-solving abilities and desire to experiment with new ways of presenting complex information.
Strong organizational skills
Technical aptitude, familiarity with basic graphic and video editing tools preferred
Detail-oriented with ability to work independently on a variety of tasks

Preferred qualifications:
Illustration skills
Interactive data visualization skills and knowledge of related technologies.
Interest in or experience with using video for advertising or marketing.
Interest in or experience with exhibition design.
Interest in or experience with video editing and production.
Experience working closely with UX and product management teams in the tech industry.
