Project Manager

Our client is looking to hire a project manager for a 3-6 month contract to serve as an operational leader at the project level. Throughout the project’s life, the Project Manager holds the team accountable for delivering on the plan and works to resolve any obstacles that they face. The Project Manager owns the risk management process identifying threats to project success, working with the team to resolve issues when possible or identifying solutions for the sponsor to choose from when problems cannot be resolved without significant modification to the plan. In addition to managing successful projects supporting product development efforts, this Project Manager will be responsible for working with other teams, such as Sales and Marketing, on developing plans that execute tactics to support overall strategic endeavors. 

Key Responsibilities
• Serves as arbiter at Project level to ensure key stakeholder (Leadership, Marketing, Sales and Product) objectives are achieved throughout the product development process on projects they are assigned.
• Leads the project team through the Initiation / Ideation / Proposal process
o Holds team accountable for timely completion and approval of proposal
o Collaborates with sponsor to document project goals and objectives, aligned to market and financial expectations and needs
o Establishes plan for proposal development, including scope, schedule, budget and quality deliverables (Level of specificity based on Agile vs. Waterfall approach)
• Ensures a realistic plan for product execution is created
• Identifies and communicates project resource forecasting to PM Director
• Leads the project team through the execution of the project
o Holds team accountable for execution of product development plan
o Works with functional resource leads to obtain specific resources once project is approved
o Identifies deviations from plan and collaborates with project team to course correct
• Responsible for incorporating existing process workflows or, when none exist, develops and documents new process workflows incorporating cross-functional activities to achieve end-to-end project management 

Required Skills
• Demonstrates leadership through collaboration, especially with team members who do not report to the PM
• Excellent Critical Thinking and Problem Solving Skills
• SME in Project Management methodologies
• Analytical and strategic
• Highly skilled at diplomacy and conflict resolution
• Expert communicator at all levels
• Demonstrated experience planning and managing multiple projects
• MS Project experience required
• Demonstrable knowledge of Scrum and Waterfall methodologies
• 5-7 years of Project Management experience required
• Business analytics, Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and metrics, process mapping, workflow development 
• Expertise using portfolio project management (PPM) tools – preferably Innotas
