A large technology company based in central London is looking for a Project Manager to join the Search Technology team within the clients search engine. Candidates must have a proven ability to learn and apply new technologies. This is a 6 month role.

You must be able to work effectively with other people dealing with challenges such as cross-team dependencies and rapid deadlines, and ambiguous requirements. The successful candidate will be sorting through complex data, analysing it and relaying it, drawing conclusions and you should therefore have some skills and background in Business Analysis. They should be used to dealing with Big Data.

Key skills required:

• Strong Program Management experience.
• Experience in performing data mining on text data.
• Strong technical background with very good understanding on how to apply advanced knowledge to solve real problems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and in a team to research innovative solutions to challenging business/technical problems.
• Extreme attention to detail.
Key Accountabilities:

• Checking and controlling for all processes and documents to be followed before project startup; and estimating the volume of work.
• Be accountable and responsible for following the Agile/scrum process and shall make all efforts to participate in the sprint/scrum related meetings.
• Initiate & manage offline measurement runs.
• Sampling, use of internal tools, tracking & driving projects to completion.
• Feeding tooling requirements to development team.
• Deep dive analysis of measurement runs to determine an actionable outcome.
• Publish detailed materials on the results of analysis.
• Present findings to feature teams.
• Collateral creation for offline measurement.
Essential Experience
We are looking for a passionate, creative, assertive Project Manager. Candidates must have a proven ability to learn and apply new technologies. You must be able to work effectively with other people dealing with challenges such as cross-team dependencies and rapid deadlines, and ambiguous requirements. You should have familiarity with software development best practices, as well as some experience in Data Analysis.

Required Technical/Functional Skills
• Strong Program Management experience.
• Experience in performing data mining on text data.
• Strong technical background with very good understanding on how to apply advanced knowledge to solve real problems.
Highly desirable
• Excel power user.
• Experience in scripting (Perl, Python).
• Experience of a ‘Big Data’ environment.
• Good team player.
• Able to communicate research concepts and outcomes to a highly technical, but non-statistical, audience.
• Able to persevere with routine tasks.
Qualifications - Degree level education preferably in Computer Science, or other scientific discipline.
