Their Food function is amongst the largest retailers in the World – their proposition spans online, mobile, order by phone and in-store. They are currently going through a period of major period of investment.
Naturally, these investments come with stretching sales targets and provide them with fantastic opportunities in their Group Packaging Design team.

The Group Packaging Design teams aim is to create the best packaging design blueprints which make what matters better for customers across group.

This role reports into the Group Head of Design, as part of the Group Marketing team. It will focus on combining the strategic planning and project management within the Group Design team. The initial key areas of focus will be budgets, process, and long term planning and team strategy. You will manage the end to end process of the design planning, as well as working closely with the international functions around creating the design blueprint.

Roles and responsibilities:

• To review and evolve the Group packaging design and artwork RACI process across commercial teams, design managers, suppliers, design agencies and artwork studios
• To review and evolve the weekly RAG report to Category Directors so that any projects not running to critical path are clearly highlighted
• Agree and implement new processes with Commercial, Group Marketing and Finance as to how Group design and artwork should be funded. Manage new budget for the design team and review spend v forecast with finance
• Liaise with UK, CE and Asia in order to plan future step change categories that are to be developed by Group Design
• Write the strategic plan for the Group Design team

Please note this role will involve some element of travel
