Project Manager

As a Project Manager, you will be a member of our life science clients Corporate Marketing team, taking direction from the Senior Manager, Science Marketing Writing. You will ensure a smooth flow of activities through the marketing writing department to support concurrent launches and campaigns with changing deadlines. Your background must include a thorough working knowledge of efficient project and time management principles and a history of improving processes and results. You are detail-oriented and quality-driven. You enjoy a fast-paced environment, adapt easily to shifting priorities, and work well with tight deadlines.
Primary Responsibilities:

Determine resource requirements based on project specifications.
Act as liaison between stakeholders and team members, clearly communicating expectations to each group. Use sound judgment in all project communications and make sure that key stakeholders are apprised of project activities in a timely manner.
Engage external contractors to augment internal resources when needed. Facilitate file transfer, contractor education, project reviews, and document release and posting.
Use Aprimo Marketing Studio to track and report on project progress, risks, milestones, and other metrics.
Establish and maintain a usable and well-communicated schedule that identifies when each task will be performed and by whom.
Resolve or escalate issues promptly to minimize impact to timeline, quality, and budget. If a project is in jeopardy, create contingency plans with input from key team members and implement a revised project schedule or scope.
Coordinate with traffic and project managers for other groups in the corporate marketing department to develop consistent management practices and ensure effective support for marketing objectives.
Proactively coach team members on best practices for project and time management. Work with the team manager to identify and address areas for improvement.

Skills required:

Manage ~100 concurrent projects using Aprimo Marketing Resource Manager or a similar tool
Assign internal or external resources appropriately and manage workloads
Adjust resources and projects to meet aggressive deadlines under changing conditions
Apply best practices for effective and efficient project management and reporting
Communicate clearly, promptly, and appropriately with multiple stakeholders about projects and processes
View files in Adobe Creative Suite and Acrobat; make minor changes and re-PDF if needed
Transfer and post files in multiple systems
Manage the review and approval process for written content
Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to simplify internal processes

Qualifications and Other Requirements:

3+ years project-management experience
Experience managing day-to-day operations for marketing deliverables
Previous professional experience with an advertising or marketing agency or an internal communications department is a plus
