Project Manager

Our client is in the process of implementing a Case and Knowledge Management System for their Employee Experience team that will track, filter, route and close requests. As part of the solution, they will be implementing the Atlassian suite of products - JIRA for Case management and Confluence for Knowledge Management.

They are looking for a Technical Project Manager to lead and manage this implementation. The Technical Project Manager will report to the Talent Systems Program Manager, who manages the Talent Systems portfolio of projects. The TPM will be heavily involved in cross-functional stakeholder alignment and in-depth project scoping. They will hold vendor partners and internal contributors accountable for a quality, on-time delivery. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee and guide the project from inception to stabilization in compliance with the project and IT methodology and all deliverables created for it, within the agreed upon scope, schedule and budget
  • Manage and/or recommend resource staffing, retention and release for the project across the various Project stages in accordance with the project lifecycle
  • Define scope, schedule and financials (budget and forecast) for all the activities within the project
  • Maintain the master project plan, which will incorporate components from contributors across IT and Employee Experience
  • Coordinate closely with the Employee Experience and IT Teams to engage them early on in the project lifecycles and ensure smooth hand-off upon project cthrough the Stabilization duration
  • Drive alignment and timely decision making across functions on project impacting technical matters by serving as a technical moderator, and informed voice of reason when required
  • Address all project interdependencies with business unit leaders and stakeholders as appropriate
  • Act as the project voice for stakeholder communications via weekly status reports, project meetings and Leadership reviews
  • Liaison across various stakeholders to ensure stakeholder expectations are addressed
  • Provide subject matter expertise in both vendor management and product implementation


  • 3-5+ years of prior experience leading projects
  • Experience in cross-functional project management is highly desirable
  • Problem-solver adept at quickly dissecting an issue into its component parts and identifying the root cause or opportunity
  • Excellent prioritization skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and adjust accordingly
  • Ability to interact with senior management, internal clients and external vendors
  • Highly organized and experienced with project planning tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Prior experience with implementing case and knowledge management systems is a must
  • Experience in agile methodology and scrum processes is highly desirable


  • BA/BS degree is required. MS/MBA is a plus
