Project Manager

Using PMO best practices and standards, partner with the Microsoft product/program managers to facilitate a project management process to fit their needs, and oversee and execute on that process/plan. Create, maintain and control the project schedule and dashboard, facilitate meetings, and proactively identify risks to the project. Shepherd the Project Team through the Release process, being mindful of all requirements. Facilitate program communications, identify and implement continuous improvement practices, and provide regular status reports as required. Engage with Microsoft's executive leadership as necessary to communicate project objectives, strategy, tactics, and ongoing progress.

This person will need to build out the project plan and take the results of what needs to occur to build out the plan. 3 of the sites need to have a complete plan put together taking into consideration who they need to work with, what’s the cost, who’s impacted, etc. This person will be managing the Accessibility integration of 5 sites within OEM, 2 of which are very active.

The day-to-day is going to depend on the development cycle we are on. Development cycles are up to 7 weeks. There are several distinct stages to each cycle: design, define, develop, deploy work model. Each phase will have their own set of tasks that come through that to ensure that all facets of the site and project meet Accessibility standards. Deploy there will be more manual work on validating and working with the accessibility team to make sure the standards of the platforms directly.

Accessibility is the priority here. There will be a continuing education on the accessibility standards throughout this role. This candidate needs to be familiar with Accessibility as it relates to software, web development.

Tools:
MSFT Office Suite. KEROS, VSO. HTML Accessibility team has a VSO Instant where they capture all test results and it gets aggregated up to relevant teams. This candidate will not be building out or coding directly, but they should be familiar with SDLC and able to communicate technical terms to the appropriate audiences. They will need to synthesize test results and communicate them to the Dev and Accessibility teams.

Interaction with Team:
The team interacts regularly. Primarily this person will work closely with development teams. There will be work with a third party. Interaction with 3rd party vendors and with people internally to MSFT. The sites we have are a co-development model with Hitachi and deployed by MSIT.

Skills:
• 8+ years of project management experience
• Knowledge/background in software industry products/services/applications, with in-depth knowledge of Microsoft's products/services/applications preferred.
• Must possess strong cross team/group/org collaboration skills; ability to foresee and analyze project risks, develop risk management plan and mitigate subsequent issues.
• The ideal candidate will have high-powered analytical skills and the ability to understand concepts and situations that pass by many others.
• Must have excellent communication skills, experience working with external vendors, strong project management skills, and demonstrated success in adult learning and training principles/skills.
