Title: Project Editor: Mobility

 

Responsibilities:

 

Project editor will be responsible for coordinating underwritten and partner content for a new custom publication on Mobility in Southeast Michigan. Content will be syndicated and labeled as underwritten or “Partner Content” in Metromode, Model D and Concentrate as appropriate.

 

Issue Media Group (IMG) will partner with Detroit Regional Chamber and a network of mobility stakeholders to identify and capture the story of talent, investment, innovation and emerging assets that are shaping the region’s Mobility future. During an annual engagement, IMG will actively engage Mobility stakeholders to uncover, capture and promote stories relating to mobility-led economic transformation in SE Michigan . The stories will be published to a Regional audience, selected for publication to statewide Michigan audience and made available for syndication and re-use to Mobility stakeholders. Additionally, IMG will create a dedicated Mobility site to showcase original, existing and partner content

 

Startup, preparation, and kickoff of project-

 

  • Meeting attendance

    • Attendance and follow-up for kickoff / dedicated editorial advisory

 

  • Startup and prep

    • Draft project brief and editorial calendar

    • Calls and discussion with Brian Boyle, the client, and IMG team (including MEs)

    • Preparation including background on the client, the subject matter and IMG local publications


 

Attend 4 Editorial Advisory Meetings

 

If additional travel is needed beyond start-up activities, such as a speaker series, site visit, client-sponsored event, or additional editorial advisory, travel and time will be compensated as indicated below:

Monthly Program Management

 

  • Support IMG editorial vision and mission through production of partner-driven mobility in 3 Michigan markets (Metromode / Model D/Concentrate) and on Mobility site

  • Coordinate content with local managing editors and Detroit Regional Chamber staff

  • Ensure that content is edited and published in local publications according to editorial calendar

  • Manage and update editorial calendar

  • Editing, loading and linking feature stories and abstracts (intros) (as needed)

  • Coordinating with IMG publishers and managers as needed

  • Monthly budget review call with IMG Accounts Director, Bookkeeper, and Client Services Director


 

Editorial requirements

 

Mobility Project Editor / Stakeholder Engagement Lead

  • Procures/develops and publishes 1 original feature story per month as either partner content or underwritten content with appropriate attribution (additional content budget supplied)

  • Procures/develops and publishes 1 original profile or Q & A per month as either partner content or underwritten content with appropriate attribution (additional content budget supplied)

  • Procures/develops and publishes 4-6  original news hits per month as either partner content or underwritten content with appropriate attribution (additional content budget supplied)

  • Procures original photography (additional content budget supplied)

  • Aggregates Mobility content from other sources including media and partners. Curated content will be published directly on Mobility site, partner news and thought leadership op-eds will be published directly on Mobility site with option to co-publish on Model D, Metromode, and/or Concentrate as “Partner Content.” Curated content will include brief intro (1-2 sentences) written by IMG Project Editor.

  • All content published to Mobility site with option to co-publish on Model D, Metromode, and/or Concentrate with branding and source link to Mobility site

  • Assist in social media / audience development

  • Assist in stakeholder engagement

 

 

E-Newsletter

 

  • IMG Project Editor will publish monthly newsletter sent to Mobility site subscribers and stakeholders to capture top content and upcoming events

  • IMG will work with Mobility site stakeholders to obtain and aggregate partner email lists to form initial email database*

  • Email addresses shared by Detroit Regional Chamber Foundation will only be used for Mobility site audience development and no other purpose

  • Detroit Regional Chamber Foundation will have the ability to publish news through the e-newsletter

  • Detroit Regional Chamber Foundation will provide an AP style guide for Mobility site and newsletter that is consistent with IMG AP style guide.
