Project Designer, Dolls - 4004254

Our client is seeking a Project Designer for Girls Dolls for a temporary assignment for a leave coverage. 

The Designer is responsible for preliminary doll design, and also transitioning product from the preliminary design phase into the development phase within the guidelines of the Global D & D process. This is accomplished through direction given by Design management, and partnering with all design and development focused team members.

KEY RESULTS AREAS:
With direction and support from manager:
• Research & ideation of new toy concepts; This requires exceptional design skills, computer design skills, knowledge of raw materials and the manufacturing process
• Art Direction and participation in the process of ensuring that product can be 1) manufactured 2) is within cost and target profit margins 3) Captures the high aesthetic standards of company brands 4) Is easy for children to play with
• Actively participate in all phases of product development cycle from Initial Concept Review / Final Product Review to Production Pilot; this includes partnering with cross-functional team members: Marketing, Development Project Managers (PM's), Packaging, Softgoods Engineers, Model Makers, Corporate Integrity (CPI) and Operations teams.
• Able to work efficiently & independently; includes taking direction well, accepting creative criticism
• Flexibility and adaptability; experience in a corporate environment is a plus

COMPETENCIES:
• Professional experience in same or related industries: Toy Industry, Consumer Products, Fashion Industry
• Competencies - Computer Skills: Illustrator, Photoshop; working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook); Drawing/hand-sketching
