Project Coordinator (contract)

The Project Coordinator organizes all day-to-day operational aspects of projects, project team’s deliverable, scope, and client communications. A strong appreciation for design and collaborating with creative teams is critical to delivering compelling results. This role supports the project manager who manages complex, multi-resource projects to successful completion. The Project Coordinator assists with scoping projects, identifying resources, tracking and reporting project progress, managing team dynamics and work productivity, and handling internal communications. The primary measurement of success will center on project results that are on time and meet or exceed our client’s expectations, with attention to detail and quality.

Reports to: Project Management Director
Internal: Program Management, Project Management, Design Managers and Studio Staff
External: Management at client companies, contractors, industry influencers and industry associations

Project Management

  • Help manage timelines, deliverables and team communication.
  • Assist with identifying and securing project resources needed to staff projects.
  • Help identify and track scope changes.
  • Track and report project progress utilizing processes and tools.
  • Alert the project manager of potential risks or issues.
  • Develop innovative solutions to challenges as they arise.
  • Proactive at developing project next steps and facilitating decision making.

  • Customer and Internal Communication
  • Cultivate strong customer relationships.
  • Communicate project issues and progress to the internal team and project manager.
  • Ensure that goals, expectations and work plans are clearly understood.
  • Keep project manager up to date on project budgets, timelines and deliverable expectations
  • Support project manager to rectify challenging project or relationship situations and smooth tensions
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge and Experience
  • 2+ years’ experience in a coordinator role in a design, product development or design consulting environment
  • Proven ability to successfully manage day-to-day tasks and deliverables.
  • Strong design or product development background preferred.
  • Track record of excellent follow through and accountability.
  • MS Project or other project management tools experience preferred.
  • Familiar with basic functions of Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Basic understanding and use of project management best practices, methodologies, and tools.
  • Enthusiasm for new ideas and the design process.

  • Physical Requirements
  • Frequent interaction with clients and co-workers requires regular attendance in the work place.
  • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear.
  • Occasionally required to reach and grab objects.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Must be able to work flexible and/or extended hours.
  • Frequent travel to other facilities in the greater Seattle area.
