Project Coordinator

Our client, located in Detroit, is looking to hire a Project Coordinator for a 12-month contract position. This is an excellent career opportunity for someone with 5+ years of Project Support experience—and proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with MS Project also required. If qualified, please apply ASAP.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Schedule, coordinate, and facilitate meetings, including preparing agenda, meeting minutes, meeting action items and follow-up
• Document, track, and manage issues, risks; including timely update of issue/risk logs, facilitating development and documenting risk mitigation plans, facilitating development and documenting issue resolution action plans, providing status on issues/risks to Release Managers
• Under general direction and coaching, assists Release Managers in creating and maintaining project planning documents, reports and project plans in MS Project
• Supports project metrics analysis, team communication, resource planning, risk analysis, report generation, and documentation control
• Adheres to Our Client’s Project Management standards, policies, procedures, and methodologies
• Performs complete range of standard Project Coordinator duties by utilizing appropriate PC and web applications to prepare and distribute correspondence, status reports, minutes, numerical data, tracking of issues, charts and forms in an accurate manner
• Provides support to ensure client/customer service expectations are met
• Establish and maintain project files

Qualifications / Preferred Skills:
• Minimum of 5-7 years of administrative or project support experience
• Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Project concepts and methodology
• High proficiency in Microsoft MS SharePoint; Word; Excel; and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of Microsoft Access a plus
• Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills, and particularly strong attention to detail
• Demonstrated flexibility, self-discipline and ability to work independently, as well as within a group
• Ability to work effectively with multiple project/program managers and clients
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and timeframes
• Ability to interact effectively with Our Client’s representatives at various levels
• Ability to perform as a self-starter, with motivation to consistently produce high quality results
• Experience in Our Client’s Insurance and healthcare preferred but not mandatory
• Proficient in the use of Excel - Pivot Tables, formatting, formula use, etc.
• Experience with developing and maintaining issue management logs (defects, issue logs, action logs, etc.)
• Analytic skills to be able to listen to updates and enter them into various logs
