Project Coordinator

We are seeking a Project Coordinator for one of our large Houston-based clients. This is a 6 month (potentially longer) contract position. Benefits available including health, dental, and 401(k). The Project Coordinator works with internal clients to initiate projects, develop timelines, assign work to Designers and Production Artists, ensures brand compliance, and works with internal procurement, legal, and fulfillment so that projects are completed on time and under budget. Candidates with account management experience from an ad agency background will do well in this role. Candidates with experience managing the strategic direction of the creative messaging are preferred.

Responsibilities:

•Ensure that the creative strategy and direction of the creative message is on point.
•Responsible for the scheduling and coordination of projects with internal clients, staff and external vendors. •Ensures that projects leaving the department have been proofed before routed.
•Establishes forms and systems required to facilitate the flow of work within the department and with clients and vendors.
•Proactively meets with clients to provide creative and value-added solutions while maintaining brand compliance. Gathers information on communication objectives, audience, budget and deadlines.
•Works with Designers and Production Artists to assign projects and balance deadlines.
•Meets all deadlines. Proactively and consistently utilizes web-based tools for project management, scheduling and archiving. Ensures that work on projects doesn’t stall because of unanswered questions or lack of information. This means regular communication with Designers and Marketing Managers.
•Participates in meetings and is a member on work group items.
•Maintains up-to-date knowledge on subject matter and provides support to client groups regarding brand strategy and corporate vision.
•Must have a strong knowledge of various print processes such as offset, screen, flexographic and digital printing.
•Must have strong knowledge of production, pre-press and pre-flight skills necessary to reduce outside expenditures with printers.
•Responsible for reviewing color proofs, color correction, press approvals, paper/substrate selection, film separation, determine proper printing techniques.
•Obtains cost estimates from Print Manager and determines most cost effective ways to meet deadlines and communication objectives.
•Allocates time wisely and effectively.
•Handles multiple priorities regarding routine matters and some issue resolution.
•Will escalate difficult situations to supervisor.
•Will be an additional design and production resource for the team as necessary.
•Assists the sales force with their advertising needs by providing digital asset support.

Other Experience and Skills:
•Excellent project management, people management, time management and multitasking skills are a must along with the ability to work independently or in a diverse work group.
•Superior presentation and analytical skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Graphic Design skills a BIG plus!
