Programmer/Writer 2

0 people like this description

We are looking for a skilled Programmer/Writer who is interested in helping create high-quality product documentation that targets both IT professional and developer audiences.

Responsibilities include a mix of scenario-based conceptual content as well as reference content (both managed and native). The writer will be responsible for helping us create and update content for the latest version as well as responding to bugs and work items in existing documentation.

Outside of the job description, the ideal candidate would be familiar with documentation tools, would have authored and managed native reference content, and was familiar enough with technology to understand the extensibility scenarios.

We are creating scenario-focused content to address customer needs, and work together to accomplish that goal.

Day-to-day activities include: working with the product team to understand scenarios, experiences, and how APIs can be used to accomplish them; planning content to support those experiences, including estimating the time that the work will take; writing the content, reviewing it with the product team, and incorporating editorial feedback; addressing high priority customer-reported content bugs in the previous release for the same content area. Strong understanding of software development in Visual Studio. Proven coding ability in Visual Basic or Visual C# required. Experience with Visual C++ is helpful as we do have some native code. As noted above, experience working with a product team to produce API and supporting conceptual and procedural content is also important.
