Candidates must be results-oriented individuals who enjoy taking ownership of highly visible and mission-critical projects that require focus on details and elegant user experiences. The ability to handle a variety of tasks and priorities in a demanding, fast paced, and high-performance environment, while working effectively with a range of personalities and technical backgrounds, both independently and in team settings is extremely important. The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the web development team, and will also frequently interact with other engineers throughout the department as needed to accomplish assignments.

• Work with software developers to schedule development, write functional specifications, and drive decision making to build amazing experiences driven by network services.
• Act as overall lead in driving technical discussions and solutions to business and/or customer requirements.
• Partner with other teams, organizations and stakeholders across Sony, while managing all phases of the software development lifecycle including design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Participate in initial requirements reviews, analysis to assess technical complexity and determine required resources.
• Provide ongoing visibility into the progress, risks, schedules, and timelines of the features in development.
• Negotiate features and functionality with third party vendors and assess build/buy scenarios.

• 5 years of Program Management and Project Management experience with shipping service-driven user experiences.
• Experience with agile development practices such as test driven development, continuous integration, continuous deployment, and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication, cross-group collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Prior experience as a software developer or tester.
• Ability to manage a feature through the entire development and release cycle.
• BA/BS/BSE in computer science, math, or equivalent technical disciplines.
• Solid leadership skills and a passion for building web-oriented consumer experiences.
• Comfort with proactively and independently driving for results in small team environments.
• Familiarity with web service oriented architectures and best practices.
• Ability to travel and manage projects with distributed resources sometimes in international locations.

• A highly technical software development background, preferably in PHP or other object oriented language. (Current technologies on the team include: PHP4 & PHP5 (OOP), Perl 5.6/Mod Perl (OOP), XHTML/HTML, XML, XSL, JSON, CSS, JS (OOP), DOM, AJAX, JS Frameworks (JQuery), Apache HTTPD Server, MySQL/Sybase/Oracle OCI, Zend Framework, PHP Symfony, CVS/SVN Server, Varnish-Cache, MogileFS, On2 Flix, FFmpeg, FMS, GDlib, ImageMagick, Flash AS3, CSS Sprites, session management, load balancing, SOAP/web services, HTML5, CSS3, Canvas and Webkit.
