Production Manager

A production manager ensures that goods and services are produced efficiently; that they are of the right quality, quantity, and cost; and that they are produced on time, to the satisfaction of the client, at the right price. 


Responsibilities: 
• Communicating directly with account team on the progress, cost and specifications of any given job in production
• Creating purchase orders with the authorization of the Account Director 
• Reviewing art and comparing files to original specifications, rebidding if necessary and communicating any cost variance to Account Executive 
• Assisting members of the Account Team in managing the print and production of direct mail projects 
• Opening jobs in our production management system and maintaining status 
• Reviewing print proofs (blueline) and setups for quality, content and accuracy and routing each through the client system to at least a 3-person team 
• Reviewing and coordinating production schedules with Account Managers to meet deadlines 
• Continually monitoring the status of all works in progress to ensure delivery on time and within estimated budget 
• Managing and coordinating all work (data, artwork, copy, print proofs, postage, etc.) between outside vendors and the Account Teams 
• Ensuring quality and accuracy of production signoffs through the client proofing system 
• Completing the billing process by facilitating and finalizing costs/invoices for each project 
• Verify package specifications, ensure that all components designed will Print, fold and fit properly within the confines of the Carrier and Reply Device 
• Attending campaign kickoff meeting with the Account Teams 

Qualifications: 

  • The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of direct mail or agency experience, be extremely well-organized, pay meticulous attention to detail, be able to multi-task, and be very comfortable working with data files, understanding data instructions and ensuring the accuracy of data 
  • They are highly interested in applicants with experience as either a Customer Service Representative (CSR) on the printer side, a Production Manager at the Agency side, or a Direct Mail Manager at the Non-profit side of operations 
  • In addition, the individual should have the willingness to learn and develop direct mail skills to service a variety of clients. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are necessary to be successful
