Production Development Coordinator

Awesome Portland based company looking for a Production Development Coordinator. This is a contract to hire position.

As the Production/Development Coordinator you will responsible for the product development processes through working closely with the business development team to ensure the product design integrity, quality and target prices are maintained and products are developed within established timelines.

  • Maintain close communication with overseas factories to develop prototypes from conception to delivery while ensuring specs and samples are accurate and represent the design intention and quality
  • Identify and source appropriate materials and trims for style development
  • Assist with creating and updating seasonal materials, parts lists and lap dip needs
  • Negotiate product price, terms and delivery and manage documentation requirements to ensure delivery goals are met
  • Review prototypes, salesmen samples and pre-production for accuracy, color/print match, quality and function
  • Communicate product discrepancies to business development team and factory
  • Troubleshoot and resolve product/material performance testing and any quality issues
  • Work closely with design team on the development of graphics for product packaging and ensure factory produces correctly
  • Develop, maintain and follow timelines of annual calendar to include key dates and deadlines
  • Initiate specs and purchase order requests for new products

  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience working for a consumer products company sourcing and developing products
  • Possess strong written and interpersonal communication skills to deal with various levels of management and employees within the organization as well as vendors and overseas factories
  • Strong organizational skills, follow-through and attention to detail
  • High energy, achievement orientation and sense of urgency
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet strict timelines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong computer skills especially in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Photoshop
  • Creative problem solver
  • Ability to work independently (with minimum supervision) and within a team
  • Ability to travel overseas 20% of year
  • Demonstrated job stability
  • Courteous, prompt and timely
  • Pencil sketching or illustrating abilities are helpful
