Production Designer/Documentation Specialist

This talent develops art copy and labeling for our medical device client, including typesetting, illustrations, and proofing. You will maintain communication with the Project Leader, Engineering, Marketing, and QRA to ensure that the labeling effectively conveys the proper usage of the device and meets all quality and regulatory requirements.

You will also maintain labeling databases (Excel and Access) for point of use printing via Bartender, manages all preprint label copy (Instructions for Use, Tyvek lidstock, cartons, cases, etc.), maintains labeling websites, implements data within a document change process, and maintains relationships with all suppliers in order to effectively manage and implement labeling into those facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Data implementation into various databases (Excel and Access)
- Ability to visualize the product while in use and translate that into a high quality illustration that effectively communicates product usage to the end user
- Ability to combine images, words and ideas to convey information to an end user. This will include typesetting, graphic design illustration, and desktop publishing
- Ability to create queries in order to filter information through template configuration (Visual Basic)
- Ability to modify/manipulate individual objects (text, barcode, images) in response to variable events (open, close, print, etc.) or to variable information pulled from the data source (Visual Basic)
- Label development utilizing Quark, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Bartender, etc.
- Label software management (Seagull Scientific Bartender software)
- Supplier collaboration for label development and implementation
- Project leadership for labeling initiatives
- Label, packaging, and technical materials layout and updates
- Digital file collection, organization, conversion, and distribution
- Prep of production-ready files
- Document control management
- Manage printers and other vendors to ensure all materials are produced on-time and within budget
- Maintain institutional graphic and image files and archives of logos, photos, artwork, designs, etc.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with print vendors and consultants; prepare files for print production and work directly with vendors, including providing specifications
