Production Designer and UX Consultant for large media company in Center City

The User Experience (UX) team of a large media company is transforming how customers access and enjoy entertainment, communications and home management services across all mediums-online, mobile and TV. The Production Designer User Experience (UX)

The UX team for a large media company in Philadelphia is seeking a passionate and innovative Production Artist with knowledge of user-centered design principles and a “don’t make me think” understanding of usability to create software assets and documentation for a range of interactive products across multiple platforms, including web, mobile and set-top box.

The project will be redesigning the internal system the Customer Account Executives use, which will greatly impact customer service and is a very important project for the company. The production designer will need to be comfortable working closely with Engineering and be able to deliver design specs and image slices to Engineering and ensure that the designs are implemented correctly as well as be able to apply existing styles to new designs.

To be considered, must be proficient in Fireworks and In Design. Experience with Axure and Omnigraffle is nice too, but not a requirement.

As for skill sets, this person should be experienced with taking a set of wireframes and applying existing visual patterns and styles. The outcome will be pixel perfect designs that represent the vision for the end product. The designer will also be responsible for providing visual specs for each designs and sliced images. This person will work provide engineering with the designs and ensure that the visuals are implemented to spec.

This person should also have a working knowledge of HTML/CSS and responsive design. While the position does not require development a solid understanding of these concepts is important.
This foundation helps with the understanding of why documentation, specs and slicing images is important. It will also be useful once the team comes to the responsive aspect of Einstein.

• Ensure business goals are achieved and translated into optimal customer experience by precise implementation of designs into interactive products
• Collaborate with partners and Product Management, Business Unit leadership, UX team, Engineering, and QA to provide deliverables based on current roadmap
• Work with established processes to create production-quality bitmap assets, source files and screenshots of all products and manages their storage and organization, including slicing
• Create detailed production spec documents to guide developers to implement exact designs into code
• Formally track product defects with Engineering and troubleshoots files for final production
• Responsible for the organization and maintenance of deliverable files, including version control, while following standards for best practices
• Contribute to the growing library of knowledge around User-Centered Design, through the products developed and best practice research

Position is onsite in Philadelphia 40 hours a week.
