This is a temp., freelance position, 40 hours/week. 5/8/13—6/14/13

Production Designer (PD) sits within the Creative Department, which is part of the larger Marketing and Visual Merchandising team. The department is responsible for all campaign development, window and in-store signage, emails and landing pages, direct mail, advertising, packaging and store support related design needs. PD is managed by Production Artist (PA).

• Following the creative process, Production Designer (PD) is responsible for creating mechanical files and releasing all packaging for our global markets.
• PD interfaces with Creative Team and Translator to ensure that all content is translated and laid out in appropriate languages (English/French text, US/Canada/Euro/Japan/China sizing.)
• Builds, owns and maintains packaging indices for global markets.
• Maintains project job folders and is responsible for routing work, per creative process.
• Attends and actively participates in all departmental status meetings and touch base meetings. Keeps PA updated on project status, initiatives and key issues.

Key qualifications are denoted in red. The division is an extraordinarily fast-faced division where workload and expectations are high and deadlines are tight.

• Minimum 3-5 years graphic design and or production design experience for print
• Must have strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines and to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Must maintain a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment
• Must have great attention to detail with excellent verbal and written communication skills with both internal and external business partners.
• Must have expert knowledge of Adobe CS5, Microsoft Office and Mac platform.
• BA/BS degree in graphic design or equivalent work experience at agency or design firm/in-house creative department required
• Retail experience preferred
