Production Designer

*This is seasonal work and not a full 40-hour work week. Will need a freelancer with more flexible schedule.*

Under general supervision, the qualified individual will be responsible for producing high quality digital product image files for several major e-commerce clients - primarily in the branded apparel vertical. Day-to-day duties to include image editing including: retouching skin tone, reducing blemishes, correcting flaws and improving the overall aesthetic pf a raw photo, color correcting, silhouetting products with clipping paths, and properly formatting layouts as demonstrated by client specific Style Guides. This position reports to the Retouching Manager.

Responsibilities:
• Editing/enhancing of vendor and in house product photography.
• Ensuring that all daily work is archived at the end of the day and deployed to client or catalog management tools as appropriate.
• Responsible for QA of all work prior to releasing it for client review.

Competencies: (skills, technical requirements, etc)
• Excellent image editing and design skills.
• Ability to process camera RAW images.
• Ability to white balance images.
• Fluent understanding of both the Mac.
• Demonstrated experience developing end-to-end production workflows that automate repetitive tasks, optimize speed of delivery and reduce risk to consistent delivery.
• Must be able to create automated workflows using Photoshop actions and droplets.
• Extensive knowledge of Adobe Photoshop required
• Demonstrable experience calibrating monitors and color-managing studio and post-production systems.
• Advanced color manipulation and color correcting skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Ability to independently solve problems and provide thought leadership.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Works well under pressure.
• Bachelor’s degree (or better) in the visual communications field.
• Minimum four years working in the graphic production, design or similar agency field.
