The Production Artist is responsible for simple marketing layout projects, copy and layout edits, preparing art files for printing and for overall quality control of projects in production. This position provides daily support, and maximizes the time of graphic artists by allowing them to hand off projects to complete. The Production Artist is responsible for copy changes and corrections for ads, brochures, flyers, handbooks and direct mail.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Modifies existing marketing art files (customizing, updating, inputting copy edits and corrections). Produces final art files and releases them to external print vendors. Provides support to the entire marketing department by assisting with technical problems. Creates benefit and plan comparison tables for use in marketing, advertising and collateral materials. Troubleshoots technical problems within the department. Archives and organizes stored art files electronically.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in art or graphic production
Experience: Minimum one year experience in a graphic design studio, advertising agency or similar creative environment Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Having a portfolio of work that demonstrates level of skill is beneficial
• Knowledgeable in Macintosh-based computer hardware systems and graphic design programs.
• High level of skill using Adobe suite of products, such as InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator Extensive knowledge of Macintosh OSX Ability to follow established protocols for file management
• Excellent spelling and proofreading skills Ability to work well individually and in teams Ability to work in MAC environments.
• Grace under pressure with a “can-do” attitude
