Aquent’s client the largest name in app based transportation that has revolutionized the way people travel on a global scale has an immediate opening for a Production Designer in Chicago. This is your chance to work with some of the best creative minds in the tech space! Production Designers are responsible for the creation of all final deliverables and ensuring the quality of the final files. We are looking for someone who has experience in both the worlds of production and design and knows the differences and similarities between the two. The ideal candidate possesses strong graphic design and technical skills as well as excellent organizational practices. You will play a crucial role in helping your team find the best option to execute campaigns across a variety of channels.

Communicating effectively with the other designers, and the project managers on your team will be crucial to your success. We will depend on you to make sure our campaigns are delivered in the same way they were designed. You should have a clear understanding of scale & proportion relating to multiple size iterations of social media ads as well as traditional online ad sizes. You will also work with our worldwide regional teams to help localize campaigns for the client’s mature and emerging markets.

The job requires heavy production work with great degrees of file exporting involved.
You will receive design files from one of our Communications Designer and be responsible
for the output of all final assets.

Who we’re looking for:
We are looking for someone who is technically savvy, and looking at production design as a career. Past experience in graphic design and digital production is required. We are looking for someone with a wide variety of skills who can take on multiple projects and be excited about working on them. You already know the specs, and you are working on a time-saving solution without sacrificing quality. You know Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, and you really get excited by a rich visual experience which is why you learned After Effects. We’re looking for a Production Designer that is always pushing the boundaries and making everyone around better.

Skills we’re looking for:
Creative Suite. Primarily Photoshop and Illustrator with some After Effects. Experience with print mechanicals also helpful.
Image and File Optimization. Expert level exporting of all file formats, both static and motion.
You need to know how to meet file weights. Experience with Adobe Media Encoder is a big plus.
Automation. You will be outputting thousands of files. You must know how to automate processes in order to increase efficiency without sacrificing quality. Expert knowledge of Adobe actions and use of droplets, ability to use automator or another file sorting software like Hazel a plus. Extra points if you are versed in javascript or applescript.

Typography. We need a production designer who knows typography visual hierarchy and styles and how to use them properly. You will be working with typography in a dozen different languages in a fast paced environment. Any experience with Asian and Middle Eastern languages and fonts will also be really useful.
Communication. We need someone who can own their time but also knows how to ask the right questions. You will need to be realistic about timelines and understand the true scope and size of a project.
Resolve. You will need to be able to comfortably handle ownership of as many as 500 deliverables in one day. You have experience mass producing thousands of deliverables.
Knowledge of Ad Specs. You are familiar with specs for desktop and mobile ads as well as ads for social media channels. A plus if you are familiar with landing page specs as well.
Marketing. You are familiar with and have previously worked on a marketing team.
Asset Management. Assist with development and maintenance of a digital asset management system.
