Production Assistant

The Assistant Manager of Production actively supports a Global Production team that is responsible for communicating and executing Brand product strategies in partnership with the fabric strategy team. He/She coordinates the activities of the development, sampling, and bulk execution which supports Design’s vision while meeting or exceeding financial goals. He/She works within a cross-functional team that includes Global Production peers, International Sourcing, Global Design, Global Technical Design, Global and Regional Merchandising, Regional Inventory Management.

1 Financial Management
• Support divisional goals and work with team on execution of strategies
• Partner with supervisor to communicate and manage financial liabilities to cross functional partners
• Understand and support execution of all brand filters, design aesthetic, quality and financial goals
• Support execution of GIS Category Sourcing Strategies
• Maintain and ensure costing accuracy in ACT

2 Production Management
a. Pre Production Management
• Monitor, adhere to, and execute Brand pipeline calendars and checklists
• Order all sample fabric, trims, and styles for key milestone meetings by calendar deadlines
• Track on-time delivery of samples for milestone meetings and report style level status and specifics to supervisor/cross functional teams
• Understand design’s aesthetic requirements and partner with supervisor to ensure brand quality filters are met
• Assist supervisor in monitoring of seasonal development meeting Line Plan needs and Development metrics
• Support fabric\product strategies that leverage the category across the brand and company
• Support exception booking process
• Ensure adhere to all Production SOPs

b. Production Execution
• Participate in pre class process
• Pull reporting of style tracker requests and monitor adherence of cross functional teams to style tracker process
• Confirm and validate all information regarding fabric, style, sb and bas bookings and order confirmation with GIS
• Communicate with GIS to understand production execution issues and partner with supervisor in resolving them in a timely manner
• Partner with supervisor on communication of with production execution issues including late or short shipments to cross functional partners
• Develop knowledge of Vendor Handbook, Product Safety Manual and training and Product Integrity Technical Bulletins.

1. Knowledge, skills & abilities:

Knowledge of:
• Production Manufacturing and product engineering, global trade regulations, global testing protocol, global product integrity, production cycle timeline, calendar management, fabric performance and garment/product construction
• Computer skills: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Web-based applications.
• Understanding of cross-functional dependencies.

• Effectively communicate in written and verbal form
• Detail oriented with strong follow through; Organize and prioritize multiple projects
• Have a sense of urgency in managing time and accomplishing tasks
• Demonstrate proactive problem solving skills
• Use basic retail math needed to determine costs, margins and turn
• Influence others; Negotiation skills
• Create and maintain a cooperative team environment that promotes high performance standards and attainment of goals
• Ability to react to change
• Solicit feedback/self-development

2. Minimum educational level:
• 4 Year Bachelors Degree preferred

3. Minimum experience:
• 1-2 Years Production/Manufacturing experience
