Production Artist/Designer (Microsoft Word)

Our large financial client is looking for a Production Artist with strong design and DESKTOP PUBLISHING (Microsoft Word and PowerPoint) skills for a 6 month contract. This person will serve as a backup to manager and will be handed off projects to manage. Production work will consist of advertising production from time to time.

Assignment Breakdown:
70% Desktop Publishing - most work will be performed in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
25% Design this will include print flyers, brochures, email banners and cards
5% Project Management - project manage with an agency to get a project done

Position Description:
The candidate will be responsible for the design and production on event related and business related collateral (directories, whitepapers, sheets, advertising, presentations, email banners, invites, etc.) for the Treasury Services Marketing Team and its manager. This work will be primarily desktop publishing which will require more in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Word but also a sophisticated design sense. Production work will be required on existing design pieces as support to manager. The candidate will work under and report to the manager but also provide service and coverage to the internal team and its external consultants. The candidate will also be responsible for picking up and maintaining the brand to ensure ongoing consistency of brand guidelines in all applications including marketing materials and messaging. The ability to project manage and provide sense of timing for delivery will be required.

Specific responsibilities include:
- Serve as backup to manager in times of absence to intake workflow of incoming projects and
complete or delegate as appropriate to most effectively deliver
- Facilitate relationships with internal partners as well as external design consultants
- Implement design and brand to a high quality level for all materials
- Implement design across several pieces/media in a consistent manner
- Implement print advertising with provided templates
- Organize, track, and archive all work in a required manner

Qualifications:
-Minimum 7 years graphic design experience
-Ability to balance competing priorities
-Ability to provide excellent customer service
-Bachelor?s degree in design or fine arts preferred or relevant experience in graphic design
-Excellent creative skills
-Project management experience
-Strong interpersonal skills
-Organized with ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
-Self starter, independent decision maker

Proficient in:
- Photoshop CS5
- InDesign CS5
- Illustrator CS5
- Acrobat Professional 9
- Microsoft Office (Word, PPT) ? Certification is a plus.
