Production Artist

As Production Artist, you will be responsible for teaming with designers in the graphic production of deliverables in a variety of media, including digital and print. This is a production-level (non-design) position within the Design Studio. In this role, you will translate design specifications into deliverables, integrate text and graphics, create and edit complex templates with speed and accuracy, and prepare/finalize files for printing/copying or hosting on web servers.

In addition, you'll demonstrate and apply advanced knowledge of firm brand and standard graphic applications with high-level technical/software skills. You will effectively prioritize and balance multiple projects and may lead teams to collaborate and provide additional resources to meet deadlines.

Your performance and product will be reviewed periodically for quality and customer experience. You will work independently and lead project teams.

Translate design concepts to develop final, refined layouts and production art
Demonstrate photo/image manipulation and transformation skills, pulling out bleed, resizing and cropping as needed
Demonstrate expertise in placing graphics and text, using master pages and style sheets, standard electronic file management/archiving and troubleshooting
Apply advanced knowledge of layout, type, color, tracking, kerning and leading
Apply advanced knowledge of firm brand/strategy to create branded templates
Incorporate revisions, punctuation, spelling, formatting, and perform mail merge functions
Demonstrate effective project management, including preparing estimates/timelines/budget, on-time deliverables and resource allocation
Prepare files for print/electronic delivery; effectively handle broker (internal/external) and vendor requests
Anticipate customer needs and suggest innovative ideas/options/solutions
Contribute technical skills and guide teams, including virtually, with leading practices
Cross-train in other applications/functions to provide overall coverage/support
Act as a peer advisor, coach or trainer on software and processes, and share knowledge
Maintain compliance with all firm technology tools/processes, including utilization/productivity requirements
Accurately assess project requirements, manage risk, make decisions, and add consultative value
Break problems into manageable parts, apply complex problem-solving techniques and identify additional resource needs
Demonstrate flexibility to work with multiple projects and customers simultaneously
Must be able to work significant overtime as requested, often on a last-minute basis, and alter hours as needed
May be required to travel and work offsite
Must adhere to busy season staffing requirements and scheduling

Knowledge and skills requirements
Expert or advanced skills with industry-standard software (e.g., InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, Captivate, Acrobat)
Highly skilled at layout development, file manipulation, scanning, retouching, typography and use of color
Proficient in reading graphics specifications
Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Able to create/edit template-based multimedia content, including HTML, Starcite, CSG+, JavaScript, .aspx and interactive email content
Excellent customer service, communication, interpersonal/teaming and collaboration skills on a local, national and global level
Demonstrate speed with exceptional attention to detail and quality


A minimum of 5-6 years related experience
Experience in graphics/multimedia industry
Background in Accounting/Finance industry preferred
Certification in Adobe graphics applications a plus

Associate's degree or equivalent work experience
