Production Artist

Production Artist:

• Reports to Director of Production, and is responsible for providing creative support to all departments within the agency
• Is proficient with Photoshop, Illustrator, Keynote, InDesign and other necessary programs
• Has complete working knowledge of printing processes (4 color, spot colors, mechanical preparation, paper stock, file formats, finishing and bindery techniques, etc.)
• Prepares artwork and other necessary presentation devices for client presentations (design, trim, mount, board, etc.)
• Takes approved design files from the creative department and prepares for release (builds mechanicals) based on vendor/printer/publication specifications
• Professionally communicates with vendors verbally and in written formats
• Maintains emails of all correspondence, and hard copies of proofs
• Assists Production Manager in filling out appropriate paperwork
• Conducts necessary production research
• Executes and oversees creative interns with technical tasks (pdf creation, scanning, etc.)
• Works with Production Manager and third party vendors to assure quality control and accurate delivery of collected files
• Reviews matchprints and dylux proofs for quality control
• Works directly with typesetters, setting up style sheets and master files for copy heavy projects
• Creates and updates presentations, proposals, portfolios, work features, and press releases in approved 160over90 templates
• Creates presentations under the guidance of the New Business Department
• Creates agency case studies under the guidance of a Creative and Account Departments
• Is responsible for maintaining and refining a logical archiving system, asset collection and proper file retirement
• Is aware of timelines and works to meet milestones and deadlines
• Exercises good time management and understands priorities on multiple projects/accounts
• Executes a high level of graphic design; will be asked to execute layouts within existing brands under the supervision of a member of the creative staff
• Organizes Server/LAN on a weekly basis

Workload will breakdown to approximately 30% mechanical development, 40% presentation and agency case study development, and 30% client design
