Production Artist

A leading medical device company in the Sunnyvale area is looking for an experienced print production artist who meets all of the following criteria.


Responsibilities
~Production Artist responsible for finishing and/or creating press-ready graphic design files to send to various print and/or web vendors for a wide variety of marketing materials.

~Work with in-house and outside graphic designers to produce final art using primarily Adobe InDesign and the full Adobe Creative Suite applications.

~Interface with clients, vendors, and marketing team to output projects on deadline in a fast-paced environment.

~Adept at working with graphic design software and solving technical glitches.

~Support all departments with development of marketing materials and training and education materials as needed.

~Provide support to Marketing Communications with the production of HTML blasts, slide presentations, collateral (for patient and healthcare professionals), advertising/direct mail (local and national), invitations, templates, exhibit material, signage, and giveaway promotional items, etc.

~Support International with production of marketing materials, templates and finished collateral in English and other languages.

~Maintain image library and master print sample library.

~Check files and coordinate final production and delivery on selected projects in a timely manner (including electronic delivery, printing press checks and bindery).

~Maintain log of status updates for production steps of MarCom projects.

~Support the Quality Policy and Quality System.

~Other duties as assigned.


Education/job experience/requirements:

~Production Artist with an eye for design and hands-on experience in production and prepress work in both CMYK (for print) and RGB (for electronic media) environments.

~Minimum of 5 years production in graphic design field or on MarCom team.

~Requires an expert level of commonly used graphic programs, including Adobe Creative Suite (CS2, InDesign a must), Extensis Portfolio or similar image management software, PowerPoint, Quark on Mac and PC platforms, Dreamweaver and Flash useful as well as latest HTML standards.

~Expert in the Apple OSX environment and ability to troubleshoot errors in OS and the Adobe applications.

~Ability to work comfortably in a mixed Mac and Windows environment; self-sufficient in troubleshooting technical problems.

~Ability to follow design guidelines and maintain organized workflow.

~Ability to handle multiple projects with attention to detail.


Medical device/healthcare experience a PLUS.
